It looks like Sasquatch has been chosen as one of Diamond's Staff Picks. This book might just shape up to make quite a splash. In case you forgot (which I'm not going to let you) the Diamond Previews order code is FEB073830. If you want to be super-cool and help promote the book, here's a banner for it you can post.

I'll be updating the site's reading section all day with some new reviews. However, as Friday is the anniversary of the beautiful union between Cheryl and Matthew McLean, you probably won't hear from me. Somehow, I know you'll get by.

The Sasquatch project with Viper Comics continues to roll along nicely. The cover of the book has been finalized and can be found over there.

There's also a new chapter to the Kansas story. We're up to Chapter 20 now.

On a completely unrelated note, the new U.S. Defense Secretary has told the press that Demoncrats' opposition to the president's new plan emboldens the enemy. Call me crazy but I think it's the years of incompetence and corruption that are emboldening the enemy.

The Sasquatch anthology that I've been working on with Viper Comics is beginning to really take form. If you look at the news from 01.23 you can get the Diamond information. The story that I worked on with Josh Boulet is entitled Top of the World. You can check out a preview of the first page here.

In other news, President Bush continues to be a complete and total dick. He challenges skeptics to put forward their own plan on Iraq forgetting that a bi-partisan group already has. So apparently if he ignores it, it doesn't count. How did we end up electing a 12 year old?

Only in the Middle East do you have secret peace talks. Most everywhere else people try to hide it when they're planning to kill one another.

New reviews in the reading section. Matt go fall down now.
01.24.07
Some new reviews in the reading section. Pretty slim pickings this week, though.

You may have noticed that, by and large, most of the reviews I write are positive. There's a simple reason for that and it's not that I'm a kiss-ass. The truth is that in my opinion the internet is filled with the writings of people who do nothing but bitch about others' work. I figure, who needs more of that?

So I deliver unto you only the good stuff.

Good news: The Sasquatch anthology will be appearing in tomorrow's Diamond Previews. If you are interested the code is FEB073830. The ISBN is 978-0-9777883-8-5. It's odd that I use to manage a bookstore but have no idea what ISBN stands for. International Sirens Beckon Nebraska?

In the writing section I've updated the Mojo Smith & Grandma Crow story. Let me know what you think.

Josh Howard of Dead@17 fame is putting together an anthology on every crypto-zoologists favorite missing link, the Sasquatch. I'm fortunate enough to be one of the writers on the project. You can find updates for the book at http://thisisnotahoax.com. It is currently scheduled for release in April of this year.

Given the delays in shipping I'll be updating the reviews section all weekend. I'll be doing that, role-playing and playing video games. It's a good thing I'm married already or I'd never get laid.

As someone who generally wants his government to leave him alone I had high hopes for McCain in 2000. However, if he's mending fences with James Dobson then its clear that McCain has learned that in order to be president he's got to play ball.

Due to the continued poor weather there will be no new reviews today since the books have not arrived. Hopefully, tomorrow. In the mean time, though, there is another chapter of Kansas in the stories section.
01.15.06
When a would be dictator and a holocaust denier look at you and say, "We don't want to hang out with you anymore," you know something is deeply wrong.

Some new material in the reviews section. Hopefully it will keep you distracted from the world at large.
01.12.07
With the temperature in the negatives and another record breaking snowfall on the way this seemed appropriate.
01.11.07
So after audaciously writing yesterday that an education on Wonder Man awaits in the reviews section, someone points out that Wonder Man was an Avenger. Which I didn't know.

So yeah, reading a one shot apparently doesn't make me an expert. Go figure.

Anyway, there's something new in the stories section by the name of Project Menagerie. I hope you enjoy.
01.10.07
While looking over the site of Peter David I found this. I am hard pressed to think of a more absurdist combination.

Peter David is the writer of a new limited series that centers on Wonder Man. If you're thinking this is some unknown relative of Wonder Woman then you should head on over to the reviews section for an education.

You know what we need in the war on terror? Another front. Because two just isn't enough.

There's a new chapter of Kansas for your reading enjoyment. There's also some new images in the Underside gallery.

Barring more natural disasters there should be some new reviews up tomorrow. See you then.

It looks like New York could use some Colorado weather. I am currently trapped inside my house as I am unwilling to brave the 80 mile an hour winds that are battering it.

Jason Hazel continues to do excellent work for The Forgotten. You can check out some new sketches and script udpates here.
01.05.07
With all of the snow coming down lately, there's been a great deal of talk around here about climate change. All I have to say is that it could be alot worse.

I finished the Mirror Man script. Let me know what you think. Also there are some new reviews. Have a great weekend.

Pssst...if you're a Christian, then Pat Robertson is making you look bad again. You don't need God whispering in your ear to be a doom-sayer.

Due to the inclement weather in Colorado, the shipment of the usual books will be late so there are no new reviews for today. However, I am working on another project named Project Menagerie. Here are a few sketches of some characters. These are brought to you by Erik Roman.

Also, there's a new chapter in the Kansas story.

Happy New Year!

Thank God we've got that one behind us.
