Project Menagerie
Character Profiles

NAME: PANTHER (Kaliq Greaves)

AGE: 27

PERSONALITY:
PANTHER is extremely disciplined, which is required to control the heightened mental state that his augmentations have inflicted on him. He is, for all intensive purposes, constantly wired as if he were overdosing on amphetamines. Despite PANTHER's discipline, this often exhibits itself through him speaking his thoughts aloud (with little self-censorship) and reckless behavior. This isn't usually unpleasant, as PANTHER typically uses humor to sublimate feelings of tension caused by adversity.

RELATIVE HISTORY:
Before his recruitment into Project Menagerie, Greaves enlisted in the military. Several years in the infantry led to work in a special operations unit. After his honorable discharge he was recruited into a covert agency that handled both domestic and international missions. It was during his tenure with this group that he was profiled and selected for Project Menagerie. He may be the only unit who volunteered.

REASON FOR SELECTION:
Greaves military training has instilled in him an extreme sense of discipline and a very high pain threshold, both of which are necessary to operate successfully as the PANTHER unit. While being profiled for selection it was also determined that Greaves had a reckless streak to him, which made him more likely to accept the risks of the project. Years of operational experience also make Greaves an ideal leader for the Menagerie unit.

AUGMENTATION(S):
PANTHER has been modified on a cellular level, mostly through the manipulation of the muscular, nervous and integumentary systems. The integumentary system has been modified through the weaving of a biological polymer through the layers of the epidermis. This serves multiple functions. The first is to make the epidermis more durable, particularly to radiation and temperatures. The polymer has also been hard-coded with a series of responses to stimuli. This allows for it to close wounds and remove foreign objects. Lastly, as the epidermis of the mouth and nose have also been affected, PANTHER is nearly immune to pathogens and poisons.

This biological polymer has also been threaded through PANTHER's muscular and skeletal systems, resulting in considerably increased strength. Vat grown muscles have also been added for the same purpose.

The modifications to PANTHER's nervous system are considerably more complex, involving a combination of brainwave synchronization, hormone modification and nootropics. This greatly accelerates PANTHER's neural signals, resulting in highly increased reflexes and thought processing. This latter change causes PANTHER to superposition thoughts, allowing for greatly accelerated skill acquisition.

NAME: RABBIT (Jessica House)

AGE: 19

PERSONALITY:
Jessica is socially withdrawn due to serious self-esteem issues. Her modifications keep her in a constant state of complete awareness of her surroundings, provided there is at least one other person present. This has forced her into a horrible symbiotic relationship. While she requires the presence of another person to function fully, at the same time this forces her to see herself through the eyes of others, which only increases her self loathing.

RELATIVE HISTORY:
Jessica has a history of mental illness, most likely brought on by a series of misdiagnoses of her condition during her childhood. A large number of treatments were assigned, including psychoactive drugs. The result left her mentally unbalanced, but greatly enhanced he latent abilities. This only increased her withdrawn state as she could sense the uneasiness that she caused in others. Her involvement in Project Menagerie and the resulting physical disfigurement has only increasedd these problems.

REASON FOR SELECTION:
Jessica was selected as the RABBIT unit for the simple reason that she was the one person that the agency located that was able to produce the use of psychokinectics in a laboratory environment.

AUGMENTATION(S):
The RABBIT unit, while the most physically fragile, is quite possibly the most important member of Project Menagerie. RABBIT's augmentations include a series of neural processors, beginning at the base of the spine, continuing at each vertebra and ending at the base of the skull. Her frontal lobe has also been highly modified. The space necessary for this required the removal of the subject's eyes.

The results of these augmentations were to greatly increase RABBIT's psychic abilities. She is a powerful psychic communicator, allowing for perfect and synchronous communication between herself and all members of Project Menagerie. This allows her to "see" in their presence by triangulating her position through her teammates. Additionally her telepathic abilities make her a supreme interrogator.

RABBIT also manifests extreme psychokinetic powers with the ability to move solids, liquids and gases. In some cases she has exhibited the ability to affect chemical reactions.
see myself through your eyes."

NAME: WOLF (Samantha Weiner)

AGE: 24 (subjective)

PERSONALITY:
Having undergone full body replacement, most of WOLF is a cybernetic shell that houses what little biological components that remain. As a result, her emotional responses have been severely damaged, limiting empathy. However, as the brain produces much of the chemicals that affect mental state, she focuses much of her energy on sublimation, mostly in the form of repression.

RELATIVE HISTORY:
After Project Menagerie failed to create an AI that did not eventually turn sociopath, a new guidance system for the combat-use body was needed. The project head, Norbert Weiner, selected his paralyzed daughter, Samantha, for the next stage of the project when it became clear that the cybernetic control systems would allow for such a transfer.

REASON FOR SELECTION:
Samantha was paralyzed and designated a quadriplegic at the age of 16. Being unable to speak or interact with others, she has been trapped in mental isolation since that age. She was selected as the test guidance system for the combat-use body (designated WOLF) as a means of freeing her from her paralysis.

AUGMENTATION(S):
The combat-use body is extremely resilient with an inner shell that is composed of honey-comb ceramic armor that is resistant to extreme pressures (such as the concussion generated by bullets) and temperatures. WOLF is given a human appearance by an outer biomimetic collagenous layer that acts and feels like skin, even re-growing when damaged. However, significant damage can cause this outer layer to calcify.

Beneath the shell, WOLF is composed of myomar muscle system, designed to mimic the human muscular system. This provides WOLF with heightened strength, land speed, and reflexes.

The WOLF is also equipped with an electro-optical targeting system allowing for precision land and air targeting. It also provides superior target identification through high resolution imagery, thermographic and laser designation and range-finding.
