Happy 4th of July. I now go forward to eat hot dogs and blow shit up. Enjoy the weekend.

It's that time of year again.

As you may have gathered by the sudden appearance of the logo to the left, I've been selected as one of the contestants for Platinum Studios' Comic Book Challenge. If you are a fan of Underside and would like to see it in print then keep your fingers crossed.

On a completely different note, I have built a wonderful device to aid in my editorial duties at Comics Bulletin. I call it the BulletinTurbineAutoElector; it randomly pairs writers to books for them to review, freeing up countless hours that would have been otherwise required from me to do my job. However, as the correspondence below shows, some writers aren't satisfied with the BulletinTurbineAutoElector's performance.

Well, there were a higher number of suggestions for this week's slugfest, and more people interested in doing them. However, after entering all of the data into the BulletinTurbineAutoElector these were the results.

Do not question the BulletinTurbineAutoElector.

No Batman love? Alright, what should I send to you in the mail that would persuade you to throw me down on it next month? Hookers? Cheddar Cheese? A Dollar? You name it.

You cannot bribe the BulletinTurbineAutoElector.

HOOKERS!

The BulletinTurbineAutoElector can...perhaps...be influenced.

If you've been coming 'round here awhile, then you know that the Forgotten story stalled out after the original artist, Jason Hazel, had a tragedy in the family. Unfortunately, Jason was never able to resume the duties. Jason was a good partner and collaborator. Hopefully, one day he'll be able to get back on the horse.

The good news is that after a long search I found Stefano Cardoselli to take over. Stefano is a gent from Italy with a distinct style, as I think you'll agree from this first page. As always, lettering is provided by Jaymes Reed.

1:57 MST -- Judges hearing a case for a detainee of Guantanamo point out that just because the government says something doesn't make it true. Too bad it took them six years to come to that conclusion.

We've always been told that reading makes you smarter. Now there's scientific proof that it improves social skills. A bit strange considering the word "bookish" connotates shyness.
